    My Catio

    Occasionally I get asked “what is a catio?” and I answer in a variety of ways. Such as “think dog kennel for cats” or “patio for cats”. And I usually get confused looks in return. A longer, more detailed answer, is that a catio is an outdoor enclosure that allows a cat to be outside and yet safe from danger. And they come in so many sizes and a variety of materials. Tents and/or tunnels made of a see-through mesh material. Wood and metal wire constructs of every size imaginable.     Pepper Pot

    This little twerp is Pepper Pot. I found her in my backyard a few weeks before last years’ Halloween. I simply can not ignore black cats or dogs. So today is her “spa day”. She had all the tests for FLV and etc and they all came back negative. Yay. I figure she’s about 7 months old, and she weighed in at a little over 6 pounds. Just a little thing.     The Habitat for Humanity Way I’ve been agonizing for a few years about what to do with some brand new stuff that I’ve never gotten around to using. Let me clarify that: For the last few years since I retired, I’ve been slowly getting rid of small and sundry things and lots of clothes via the Salvation Army. But, there’s also some things, too big and heavy, for me to simply get into my car. DIY things. All wood. A chest of drawers and a matching pair of nightstands.
